General Bob Photography (Facebook is http://tinyurl.com/c9tysbl)
This is page one of the newest venture for General Bob Photography (refer to Facebook page http://tinyurl.com/c9tysbl), which is a new entity of Bob Felderman.
Wondering how the name came to fruition?
Well, I was fortunate to have served almost 36 years in the military, over 25 in the National Guard and over 10 on active duty, before retiring on Halloween Day in 2010 as a Major General from the Iowa Army National Guard and a Brigadier General from the U.S. Army.
I was also on active duty for about 6 years, 2005 to 2010, and upon my return to Iowa started putting more focus on my photography hobby. As I went about business and volunteer efforts, folks starting to call me "General Bob". We spend a lot of time going out to eat, drink and philanthropic events which generated someone asking, "Where is General Bob tonight?" That slowly became a theme and at the suggestion of my professional photographer daughter - Jamie Borland Photography (photobyjamie.com), and with her design of a logo, General Bob Photography was born.
I'm fortunate to have what others perceive as an "eye" for photo shots and have been an independent photographer and write for Dubuque 365 (365 Ink Magazine), Julien's Journal Magazine (and Facebook contributor), Dubuque Main Street and the Julien Dubuque International Film Festival; but also have become popular shooting concerts and events at the Diamond Jo Casino's Mississippi Moon Bar.
For now, my efforts are a hobby and to learn more about taking photos, plus increasing the amount of equipment and software to improve the quality of my after shots development.
This blog will be used as an easier access location to post some of my favorite and better photography efforts. I hope you enjoy them, and if you do please let me know.
